The Bi-Fold Gate was introduced to the marketplace primarily as a solution for areas where security combined with good visibility, passage of daylight illumination and natural airflow are important considerations.
Offering more than 60% free airflow in the standard design, the gate system is manufactured from the best quality materials using sound engineering principles, that together create a product of superior design with intrinsic strength and structural integrity.
Individual panels are formed from a four-sided heavy duty perimeter framework capable of receiving various infills, cladding panels or bespoke facings benefitting designers and architects with the option of a tailored solution.
Pivoting on floor mounted bearings and lateral movement controlled within a top track, the Bi-Fold requires only minimal head and side room making it beneficial where the structural space envelope is limited.
Car park entrances, service yards, loading and storage bays. In areas with the potential for build up of harmful gases, the free-open area of the standard design greatly assists when used with ventilation or extraction systems to generate mechanical airflow.
The gates are electrically operated by two 230-volt nominal single phase motors mounted at high level on each gate.
A single specialist gate operating control panel is provided to ensure both sides operate simultaneously complete with open/close/stop push button to be mounted adjacent to the opening.
A wide range of control options to suit the site specific requirements can be facilitated by the standard control panel including radio control, proximity readers, photocells, loops and timers etc.
A manual disconnection device is provided to allow emergency manual operation in the event of power failure.
The standard arrangement comprises a pair of door leaves each with two panels. The door leaves fold back to the jambs and bunch at 90°, perpendicular, to the opening.

The gate leaves are available in various designs but the standard arrangement comprises a 60 x 40mm RHS perimeter frame with 25mm diameter tubes or 25mm SHS uprights at 125mm centres.
Taller gates have a mid rail incorporated for strengthening purposes. A rear mounted wire mesh can be incorporated to prevent access through the steel uprights.
A compact 54 x 42mm top guide track keeps headroom requirements to a minimum.
The Bi-Fold Gate is designed to be operated without a bottom track allowing a continuous floor surface.
Heavy duty floor mounted bearings support the weight of each half door.
The standard gate finish is galvanised. Polyester powder coating in a wide range of RAL colours is available as an optional extra.
